About this place
Inside a transparent cup, thinly sliced apples unfurl like delicate rose petals: this is the signature fresh apple tea at Oyoppi Coffee. Perched on the 2nd floor of a building in Okubo—reached via a steep flight of stairs—the cafe offers a visually striking tea break. A gentle waft of sweet fruit aroma paired with clean black tea makes it a particularly refreshing choice while exploring the area.
The sweets counter centres around Basque cheesecake, with the brulee Basque cheesecake standing out as a favourite. Breaking through the crackling, caramelised top reveals a rich, molten interior that yields to a creamy texture. Seasonal releases also draw regular fans, notably the Chodang corn Basque cheesecake, which layers the gentle sweetness of sweetcorn with luscious, creamy undertones.
Waffles pressed from laminated croissant dough—croffles—are another core offering, featuring a crisp crust and a chewy centre finished with toppings like Oreo, Lotus Biscoff, tiramisu, and chocolate banana. The drink menu is equally expansive, reflecting modern Korean cafe culture with options such as cream-topped Einspänners, jaheobl (grapefruit honey black tea) with visible pulp, and sweet potato goguma lattes.
Outfitted with warm wood accents and subdued lighting, the cafe operates on a laid-back self-service system where guests order at the counter and pick up their trays when the buzzer sounds. Seating caters primarily to smaller parties, making it an easy place for solo visits or pairs looking to share a dessert over quiet conversation.
